Dear Hugh

Last Saturday was the first time I had played against a Harper since your Father, ever a gentleman, allowed me to bowl to him at Caterham in 1956, but only after he had taken exactly 50 off the College. Old cricketers never forget!

I enclose for your interest, something you might never have seen, a copy of the Ramblers' records which was accurate up to the end of the 1976 season, plus a rather sad fixture card.

We are holding the line this year and re-expanding next. We marked the first stage of our revival with a 10 wicket win over Haslemere.

Our next game is at Middleton - a fine ground by the sea in Sussex, which Brian O'Gorman introduced me to in 1957. He and Tim are coming back to play on 13th August - on a journey of nostalgia for Brian, subject to no other previous commitment and you are welcome too. There will probably be one other O.G. there - Richard Illingworth.

Let me know if you would like to play.

Best wishes

Christopher Terry
