Thank you for your letter of 28/9/01. You are a great chap to compile the records. I found the website very interesting with many memories flooding back. Playing at Abingdon and in the bar after watching man land on the moon, has to be one of the all time great memories. You sitting at the bottom of my bed at Bramble Hill Hotel the morning after a training session, wondering if I`d make to the match!. Ince and Hobden crashing both their cars into the same bank on the way back to the Cross Keys Hotel.

My first tour to Solihull as a raw sixteen year old. My roomy was A.K.Wood, he wet the bed on the first evening. We came back the next day to find that they had inserted a rubber sheet in his bed. No, I don`t have any memories!!

 

Your request for information for years 77-86. I can help a little. I used to keep my own performance records, meagre though they were. I am posting the end of season analysis  (see below).

I also have for that period the opponents I played against with my individually poor performance but no match score or result.

 

You, being a collector of books, might be interested to have for your collection a copy of Banstead Cricket Clubs 150 years celebration in 1992. Yes I am mentioned.

 

Our news, Judy and I became grandparents last year. Jamie married a girl slightly older (40) named Leslie (she`s Lovely). Yes, she has the masculine spelling. We have problems. Picture the scene: it`s Christmas; presents around the tree to be handed out. I`m Leslie; my daughter in law is Leslie; Judy`s middle name is Lesley; Jamie was christened James, my grandson is James Leslie and my daughter in law has a daughter by her first marriage called Jamie. We`ve gone mad!!

 

Jamie lives in Chicago and we are going again in two weeks. My brother Brian is coming for his first trip to the States.
