Dear Malcolm
Sydenhurst
One sad day, a few weeks ago, the remnants of this once great cricket club dropped through my letter box. I couldn't bear to think of it dying altogether so I have maintained a few fixtures, such as the Hampshire Hogs, just to keep the Club in existence for the forthcoming season. It will also be good because it will stimulate Brook by bringing this club back as a brother club to Brook and widening the player catchment potential. We will see how we will fare in the very few fixtures that are left to us in 1985 before we decide what to do in 1986. I will be contacting you later to invite you to guest for us on those few remaining auspicious occasions. It would be fun if we could turn out some of the teams we used to turn out and revert to the old policy of playing the strongest sides available on the day, and always playing to win.......
