As usual, a stern contest for the Ramblers at Brook; Stoics taking first strike, progressed steadily before lunch, held in check mainly by an excellent 16 overs down the hill before lunch by Somerset Pheasant, but supported at the other end by Paul Francis and then Christian Hudson - who also bowled very well. After lunch containment was required, but serious hitting by Trevor Webster, who latched onto anything remotely loose, denied this and he hit a fine century to help set a substantial target (but with reasonable time and overs available).

The Ramblers initial response was not promising, and continued in that vein, not helped by some unfortunate umpiring decisions. Only Rob Jones who struck a positive and stylish fifty and Luke Moorby with an aggressive twenty made any substantial progress. The match, nevertheless, as always, was played in good spirit by both sides.
